twood Ambrosia 5 is one of the highest genomic type cows in Europe, out of the VG89 classified Sahara Toystory Ambrosia she is then backed by three generations of Excellent dams. She calved in September with her second this Atwood daughter is giving 34kg a day and back in-calf to sexed Bradnick. Interbreed judge Ken Proctor commented: “This second calver is everything I am looking for, she has style, capacity and is well balanced with an udder to die for. She carried her milk well above the hock.”


ROYAL WELSH SHOW A


In the interbreed heifer championship Iwan Morgan’s Nobold Windbrook Joan stood reserve champion having come through as Holstein heifer champion and senior heifer in milk class winner. Classified a maximum score of VG89 she calved in November and is giving 40kg a day. She was purchased privately from Mike Roberts and stood first two year old at the Celtic Dairy Showcase.


Standing reserve in the interbreed group of five was Sahara Holsteins’ Sahara Atwood Ambrosia 5, Bestfed Goldwyn Elegance 3 from M and C Gould and A H Wilson and Son, Iwan Morgan’s Erie Maplerose PS Lustre, Castellhyfryd Spirte Rosina from S P and S R Davies and A H Wilson and Son’s Willsbro Goldwyn Kitty 5. The top three places in the interbreed production and inspection class went to Holstein cows with the winner Castellhyfryd Spirte
