The sale of school ties for the 2022 back to school period has been the most successful year for the Tie & Scarf Company. Apart from the bespoke school ties, in 2022 the company launched a stock service for school ties offering retailers, embroiderers and printers a choice of almost 60 colours, which are available in elastic, 45in, 52in and clip on. The level of sales for the stock ties reached a fi gure higher than expected for this year’s back to school.
Another successful part of this year’s sales has been the chance for Tie & Scarf customers to order their school ties made from recycled fabric which proves the company’s commitment to the environment. It is a fact that it takes two two-litre plastic bottles to produce one Eco Tie and over one year will equate to saving thousands of plastic bottles going into landfi ll sites.

Almost a decade on from when its blazers became the fi rst in the industry to be manufactured using recycled plastic bottles, David Luke is now introducing 100% recyclable blazers and jackets onto the market. This development ensures that once the products have come to the end of their life, they will be recycled back into yarn, making a fully circular garment, with nothing going to landfi ll or incineration.
The recyclable blazers and jackets will carry the Circular Textiles
Foundation certifi cation mark and be available to buy from January 2023, with the aim to move more garments across to this circular model.
