Woman Golden
er Woman Golden Lasso Coaster will feature three single seat trains (in themed colors of red, yellow and blue) that race along a slender yellow track supported by massive red supports. As guests enter the ride queue, they will be greeted by a spectacular likeness of Wonder Woman herself and immersed in the story of her life and how she obtained her super powers. Guests will be surrounded by tropical landscaping, Greek architecture, and even a crashed plane. After boarding their streamlined ride vehicle, the incredible sensory journey begins, as riders are called upon to emulate Wonder Woman’s determination to improve the world and fight the forces of corruption and evil. Riders will race through a one-of-a-kind 90° drop, over-banked wave turn, zero-g roll and a steep uphill spiral.
Lasso Coaster. This prototype 1,800 foot (549 m) long and 113-foot (34 m) tall new ride will ffwill feature a single I-beam rail Raptor coaster track from Rocky Mountain Construction that is only 15 ½ inches (39 cm) wide, a first ever at Fiesta Texas. It will contain a 90° drop, three inversions, and three passenger coaster trains with riders seated single file. This unique new design gives riders an open-air, unobstructed view as they twist and turn above the 100-feet quarry walls. Wonder W
“This is another roller coaster that only Cedar Point could build – tallest, fastest and longest of its kind with four inversions and the exciting movements the hybrid design can achieve,” said Jason McClure, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point. “There are so many unexpected moments on Steel Vengeance, it’s just plain twisted. It’ll be an extremely wild experience for our guests.”
Steel Vengeance introduces a new classification of roller coaster, the “h yper- hybrid.” The coaster not only combines a hybrid construction of smooth steel track set atop a wood support structure, but also reaches a height of over 200 feet (61 m) – the defining feature of a “hyper-coaster.” It marks the fourth classification of roller coaster introduced by Cedar Point as the park’s ever-higher roller coasters have needed new categories to define them.
