the amenities being planned for this mixed-use community. Thrill seekers will enjoy the wide array of interactive activities and displays highlighting the Six Flags experience. The official opening of the Zhejiang Riverside Themed Town Exhibition Center was attended by a host of dignitaries including officials from the Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing City, and Haiyan County government, Six Flags, Riverside, Coca-Cola, Paws Inc., Paramount Hotels & Resorts Pierre & Vacances – Center Parcs and other notable industry leaders and partners.
ix Flags Entertainment Corporation and Riverside Investment Group Co. Ltd. have opened the Zhejiang Riverside Themed Town Exhibition Center offering
HydroMagnetic water coaster with flying saucer turns and the 14th coaster at Hersheypark. Whitecap Racer will be the world’s longest mat racer. The new attractions will be located between the Shoreline Sprayground attraction and Intercoastal Waterway lazy river and are slated to debut in late May 2018. “We are very excited to announce not one, but two new attractions for 2018 to The Boardwalk at
Hersheypark,” said Kevin Stumpf, general manager attractions & entertainment of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. “Our guests always ask for coasters, water and family
experiences...these attractions will deliver on all three.” Breakers Edge Water Coaster will be the world’s first HydroMagnetic water coaster with flying saucer turns to smoothly rocket riders through splash-filled hills. The four-person inline raft gives families a bobsled ride feeling as gravity drops and Linear Induction Motors (LIMs) power guests up and down hills and turns. This water coaster has an estimated hourly ride capacity of 600 guests and a ride time of about one minute. Whitecap Racer will be the world’s longest mat
racer and will take guests 70 feet (21 m) high as they race to the finish in six side-by-side tunnels to the bottom. Each rider speeds through two tight 360° loops, while open racing lanes with low separator lanes allow racers to see and hear each other as they challenge each other using a slider timing system. The new attractions will be the biggest splash to The
Boardwalk at Hersheypark water park since it opened for the park’s centennial season in 2007.
Electric Eel to slither into
SeaWorld San Diego California’s SeaWorld San Diego will soon break ground on its 2018 attraction, the Electric Eel roller coaster. It will expand the park’s new Ocean Explorer realm, which opened in summer of 2017 as part of the park’s largest new attraction premiere in its history. “Electric Eel will bring a whole new level of excitement to SeaWorld in 2018,” said SeaWorld San Diego’s Park President Marilyn Hannes. “This new, first-of-its-kind coast- er at SeaWorld will give riders the rare opportunity to feel what it’s like to move like an eel as they twist and flip along nearly 900 feet of undulating track.” A Premier Rides’ Sky Rocket II, Electric Eel will feature loops, twists and airtime. Multiple-launch
experiences will propel riders over 863 feet (263 m) of track forward and backward as they speed through the ride’s station house accelerating to 62 miles per hour (100 kph) in seconds. Riders then rocket skyward nearly 150 feet (46 m) where they will brave an inverted heartline roll and a twisting loop as riders crest the top before returning to the station. It will offer riders the only upside-down view of Mission Bay. With Electric Eel, SeaWorld’s Deep Blue creative design team will fuse the thrills of a contempo-
rary coaster with an interactive and educational eel experience. It will be constructed on an approx- imately two-acre site on the eastern side of the park between the currently under-construction Ocean Explorer attraction and Journey to Atlantis. The ride is expected to open in summer 2018.
