GameChanging interactive experiences

Bayern-Park, based in Reichbach, Germany, has just become the first amusement park to feature Lagotronics Projects’ ground-breaking ride concept, the GameChanger, with Farm Fair theme. Bryony Andrews spoke to Mark Beumers, CEO at Lagotronics Projects, to find out more

I

n a meeting with a select group of customers last month, Lagotronics Projects’ revolutionary 4D rotating Farm Fair dark ride made its debut at German family amusement

park Bayern-Park. Named Stadlgaudi 4D, the ride boasts an impressive design both conceptually and operationally, offering a unique interactive experience that can also handle a high guest capacity over a relatively small area.

Stadlgaudi 4D is built on a rotating platform with a diameter of only 8.8 metres. Into this space, it fits five sections: one for boarding, and four distinct game scenes. Each vehicle seats four people, and the total ride time is about 160 seconds. This means the capacity is 400-500 visitors per hour, which for a ride with such a small footprint is a truly impressive feat. Lagotronics delivered the complete ride package, from design to installation, covering interactive technology, devices, seats, platform, audio and video, lighting, show control, themed decoration and scenery. “We provide turnkey solutions through partners who provide different elements,” explains Beumers. Also known as Farm Fair, Stadlgaudi 4D is designed to

give park visitors, largely families, a true dark ride experience, from the themed queue line onwards. The storyline follows three ‘farm friends’, Horse, Cat and Rooster, who are secretly planning a huge Farm Fair in the barn in the middle of the night. However, first they need to enlist the help of the other farm animals, which is where the riders’ role comes in… After stepping into the ride vehicle, which sits on a rotating platform, visitors play an interactive farm-themed game involving hitting targets with a carrot cannon in four different scenes: yard, kitchen, barn and field. In an explosive conclusion, a huge firework show celebrates the success of the Farm Fair. At the end, visitors can check out their scores and compare them to those of their fellow players.
