Parques Reunidos to develop Steelers
Country at Kennywood
Parques Reunidos is combining two of Pennsylvania’s top entertainment brands: American football team the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Kennywood amusement park, designated a US National Historic Landmark. Visitors to Kennywood will be able to enjoy an exclusive football
experience at the new Steelers Country themed area, an immersive land where fans will feel as though they’re at the stadium, with merchandise, skill games, food locations and the record-breaking 67 meters-high roller coaster Steel Curtain, manufactured by S&S - Sansei Technologies. Kennywood is the largest park in the Parques Reunidos’ US portfolio,
and the agreement is the first struck between a leisure park and a National Football League (NFL) team. The project is due to open to the public in 2019.

Conductix-Wampfler, a leading manufacturer of power and data transmission systems for mobile consumers, has equipped Zamperla’s Tower Ride, Vertical Swing – Dancing in the Sky with sliding lines, slip ring bodies, and ProfiDAT – a compact solution for the transmission of high data rates via conductor rail systems. ProfiDAT has established itself in the
crane industry in harsh environmental conditions outdoors and is now being used for the first time in the Amusement Ride industry. The product will guarantee secure data transmission on Zamperla’s 24-seater, 41m high carousel, in a closed slot waveguide that prevents signal interference from other radio waves such as WLANs. Thus, the system works independently of other radio systems in the amusement park.
