Making waves at Therme Erding


Magic in the works at Walt Disney World Resort


Executives from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts have announced a string of new attractions, events, and projects, as well as updates on previously announced experiences. Speeding into Disney’s Hollywood Studios early next year will be Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, an all-new show experience welcoming guests to the world of Cars, and liftoff for the new 14-acre Star Wars land takes place in autumn 2019. Guests can explore Black Spire Outpost on the remote planet Batuu, as well as meet with new and familiar characters. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will also open at Disneyland Park in Southern California, inviting riders aboard the Millennium Falcon. 2019 also sees the first ride-through attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s


Runaway Railway, inspired by the Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts.


After more than a year of planning and construction, German water park Therme Erding have welcomed the wiegand.maelzer Big Wave waterslide; a hybrid, stainless steel attraction that unites two additional wiegand.maelzer’s products, the Sidewinder and the Urknall. The giant slide can be used with single or double


rafts, measuring 18m tall and 180m long, and riders reach a 45 km/h top speed with 3G sensations. wiegand.maelzer previously installed the VR Slide at Therme Erding in 2018.
