Sun International Takes a Quantum Leap Forward with New Head Of Casino Operations
Sun International CEO Ulrik Bengtsson announced recently that, after a thorough search, the company has appointed Mark Sergeant as Chief Operating Offi cer: Gaming, responsible for land-based revenue across the group.
Sergeant will head up the casino operations from February, reporting directly to the CEO. He also brings over 25 years of credible leadership experience across all spheres of Sun International’s operations, from gaming to leisure and hospitality, having led two of the UK’s largest casino groups.
As the Group Managing Director at Genting Casinos he oversaw a portfolio of 35 casinos across the UK, an international casino operation in Cairo, a UK integrated gaming and leisure resort, and two online gaming businesses. The appointment marks another giant leap forward for the group as it pursues its strategy to become a digitally-led, market-leading omnichannel gaming company of scale. Botswana Gambling Authority Trains Infl uencers in Responsible Gambling
Botswana’s Gambling Authority has embarked upon an innovative approach to Responsible Gambling, and identified that Influencers can hold they key to spreading the message around RG.
The Authority hosted Responsible Gambling Training to educate influencers who promote gambling sites and gambling content, as well as underscore the vital role they can play when promoting gaming and sportsbetting content, and to do so with a greater understanding of the RG message. The training has empowered social media influencers to lead responsible gambling conversations.
