Matt Broughton and Pateplay’s Business Development Director, Valentin Obretenov, sat down at ICE to talk about 2025, ICE Barcelona, and the year ahead.

2026 is also a year we will be pushing our promotional tools a lot. We know that we need to stand out in a crowd of repetitiveness, and we know what the players need - and it’s not just a slot game.


Matt: And what is your mission while here at ICE? Valentin: One of the things is the promotional tools that I mentioned. We have two specifically that we are ready with that we’re pushing to operators, and they’re called Spin to Win and Infinity Rush. These are amazing retention tools that improve average player bet and improve player retention.

Matt: Before we talk about 2026, can you summarise the real key moments for Pateplay last year? Valentin: Yes, of course. 2025 was a very important year for Pateplay. We strengthened our existing positions in the markets that we already operated in, and we crossed off a lot of our compliance targets to prepare us for accelerated growth in 2026. 2025 was a very good year for us. We surpassed our own records multiple times over, which shows a great team and great innovative thinking. We released a total of 28 games, two of which are among our best sellers, Bam Bonbon Pop x1000 and Quack Squad.


Quack Squad is a game where we showed something that nobody else has done in the industry, and it’s a progress bar that remembers you; so every time you come back to playing online, you can pick up exactly where you left off - a built-inretention tool, if you will.


Matt: So what ambitions do you have for 2026?


Valentin: We already prepared a lot of our steps from a compliance point of view, so we are preparing for a lot of strong market
