Häfele reflects on 2020 and looks to 2021 W


hile the past 12 months have been incredibly challenging, at Häfele,


we saw 2020 as an opportunity to re-visit the products and services that make a real difference to our customers. In response to the pandemic and our


customers’ needs, we launched Häfele Here to Help. As well as price freezes on our products and extended free delivery, this package of support amalgamates several value-added services. These include our free-of-charge Lighting Design Service and Häfele to Order – a bespoke, made-to-order manufacturing service, plus a new technical specification support programme for sliding door gear.


Häfele Here to Help was very much


welcomed by the industry, especially as market performance exceeded expectations whilst resources may have been reduced, with lockdowns forcing homeowners to stay home and in turn, think about how they can improve their spaces. A key trend has been making rooms work


harder, partly because our homes became – without warning – much more multifunctional than they ever needed to be. Sliding doors, for example, are being used to break up and reconfigure kitchens and dining rooms, giving homeowners a dedicated working area without sacrificing space elsewhere.

Design support and expertise right where it’s needed with Virtual Worlds Design Hub


T


aking the design strain and enabling showrooms to keep up with demand


in circumstances when staffing levels are reduced, the Virtual Worlds Design Hub helps retailers close sales and increase profitability, with a flexible resource they can count on during uncertain times. The Design Hub team work closely with the


retailer to gain an understanding of a project’s requirements, including style and colour theme, perimeter measurements and location of windows, doors and other fixed features. From this they are able to produce a 2D plan, with rendered photo-realistic jpeg images along with a link to the project on design cloud for the retailer


to share with their customer. Consumers can then explore the design from the comfort of their own home, moving around and interacting with the design using their tablet or smartphone, keeping their interest, and helping to progress the sale. The Design Hub is being led by Head Designer


Lauren Sutton, who has 13 years’ experience in the kbb industry, who says: “I’ve designed customer’s bathrooms and kitchens for a number of years and my passion is designing retail showrooms both physical and in the virtual space. “The Design Hub is proving to be an essential


service during the current challenging situation for retail showrooms, helping them reduce the risk of losing sales while continuing to provide a quality service.” Whether retailers need temporary design


support through employee illness or holidays, a stop-gap to allow breathing room while their business grows or if they are not quite at the point of hiring a new designer on a full-time basis, the Design Hub’s talented and experienced team has it covered. Simon Cook from Tytherleigh Bathrooms Ltd,


has taken advantage of the service recently, saying: “It’s brilliant to have designs produced for us, maximising the full potential of the software.

are new to Design Hub currently receive their first design for half price. Offering further support during the Coronavirus pandemic, retailers can also take advantage of special bundles, buying five designs and receiving the sixth free of charge for a limited time.
