The Zoom boom has been the definitive remote/hybrid workforce ‘thing’ and with terms like ‘Zoom fatigue’ now part of everyday office chat you know it’s officially part of the office culture. Here we speak with Zoom’s CIO Advisor, Magnus Falk about the next steps in the remote/hybrid work evolution and new features added to the Zoom platform that will seriously boost your productivity levels.

ere’s what Magnus Falk had to say. What is the key to a successful


remote/hybrid workforce infrastructure? You have to give every employee the same capabilities, regardless of where they are. Tat extends to collaborating, communicating or even creating a distraction-free office environment. By making everyone equal, you’ll ensure that your teams are productive and successful. It’s also important to listen to employees regarding any problems with your remote/hybrid infrastructure - this helps to identify pain points, and ensures remote and in- person workers can collaborate with as little friction as possible.


What challenges are you seeing come up time and again and how can these be fixed? Tis has to be - How to keep company culture alive? How to collaborate effectively across different time zones and between different teams and How to keep teams informed? Having a unified communications platform can solve many of these problems, allowing dispersed teams to communicate effectively, and building a feeling of ‘belonging’ for employees, no matter what time zone they are in. For example, business leaders can maintain

company culture by using Zoom for activities such as virtual lunch and learns or boost creativity and collaboration by using Zoom’s Whiteboard in the Meeting Room, which creates an intuitive, consistent, collaboration-ready space for hybrid teams.


How can companies look to boost productivity in the remote/hybrid Workface? We’ve seen that hybrid working can have a very positive effect on productivity: research by the


Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development found that 71% of companies who shiſted to remote work in the pandemic found that productivity either increased or stayed the same. Business leaders need to be proactive and upskill their employees, teaching them what it means to collaborate effectively using the various digital tools at their disposal as efficiently as possible.


What should companies consider as part of their hybrid/ remote set-up? It’s worthwhile investing in infrastructure that can deliver organisation wide communication instantly (as well as deliver on all your other communication needs). Being able to reach
