No one size fits all in the new hybrid world of work
Eamon O’Doherty, Enterprise Director EMEA at Logitech explains how, to ensure hybrid success, organisations need to equip employees with tools that consider equity, inclusivity and flexibility, in turn enabling agility and optimising performance.

ybrid working is no longer something we’re getting used to - it’s what work looks like for many of us. Now that most businesses have at least the basic facilities
to accommodate hybrid, we’re seeing it being taken to the next level by companies investing in technology to support “equitable” hybrid working. Tis involves closing the gap between

hybrid workers to create a sense of connection regardless of where employees are. Implementing simple and easy-to- use video collaboration technology is a great place to start, making hybrid working streamlined and effortless. Tis can come in a number of forms, such as video devices that seamlessly integrate with existing UC soſtware, one-touch conferencing interfaces, or cameras with auto-framing technology. All of these are designed to put the needs of the end-user first. Te “New Logic of Work” is Logitech’s expression of how we

understand work and working today, with technology solutions designed for all people in all spaces. With the New Logic of Work, Logitech provides businesses with a one stop shop for all their hybrid working needs, simplifying the process of getting teams equipped for high-quality, productive hybrid working. Ultimately, the New Logic of Work assists in the delivery of key hybrid working needs: equitable meetings, collaboration, wellbeing, flexible workspace management, security and sustainability. Since the advent of hybrid working we’re seeing more advanced
collaboration tools come to market. For example, AI-powered whiteboard cameras can provide remote workers with a clear, unobstructed, and real-time view of the whiteboard. Tools like this make meetings more equitable by levelling the experience for those in and out of the room, helping remote workers to stay engaged and productive. Tere is no one-size-fits all solution when it comes to video
enabling a workspace. Every office is different, and this means having individually configured technology to suit every space. Video conferencing should also be simple, streamlined and focused.

important to invest in technology that enables everyone to be seen and heard clearly to keep meetings productive. Great technology should be seamless. Tis can be achieved by installing cameras that are simple to use, and automatically focus on the current speaker. With such technology hybrid experiences can provide the same, if not enhanced, quality as in-person meetings. Hybrid working has meant that the
traditional boundaries of the workplace have fast evolved from “offices and rooms”
towards working from anywhere. To ensure hybrid success, organisations need to equip employees with tools that consider inclusivity and flexibility, in turn enabling
agility and optimising productivity. Mice and keyboards are oſten aſterthoughts when equipping hybrid and remote workers.
However, with inclusive tools – such as mice that offer multiple sizes and leſt-handed grips – businesses can be certain
all their employees are working comfortably. Integrated palm rests on keyboards also help reduce strain and provide a more fulfilling experience – ultimately boosting productivity. Tough video conferencing may be the more visible hero of hybrid success, having comfortable and productive employees is what will truly empower anywhere working. A topic that is beginning to come into conversation is hybrid’s
impact from a sustainability perspective. Tere are arguments that hybrid working doesn’t guarantee sustainability benefits in all areas (think heating 100 houses, as opposed to one office), but there is a clear benefit in reducing carbon-heavy international business travel. When it comes to the technology itself, true sustainability comes
from considering the full lifecycle of the product. We’re already seeing and producing solutions made with low impact materials that require less energy to source, manufacture and distribute. In the future, the hope is that production will not just be carbon neutral but carbon negative – helping organisations to reach net- zero targets.
