Taylor Johnstone, MBPS Chad Manuell, Canyon
Magura Bosch Parts & Services GmbH & Co. KG (MBPS) has appointed Taylor Johnstone as area sales manager for the UK South. The appointment signifies MBPS’ continued emphasis on supporting its specialist dealer network with personal support. Johnstone will be the contact person in UK South for the entire MBPS portfolio and in particular brand sales for Magura products. Johnstone has been an enthusiastic mountain bike rider since early childhood and has successfully competed as a rider in Belgium’s top amateur class for seven years. He has been working in bicycle sales for 10 years and has managed to turn his passion into a profession. In the course of his career to date, he has been responsible for the development and improvement of several branches and sales outlets of a large specialist bicycle retailer in the UK.
Canyon has announced that Chad Manuell will join the brand as chief technology officer. The move will help deepen Canyon’s consumer-led growth and innovation focus. He fills a role vacated by Michael Kaiser, who is stepping into a role with Canyon’s executive advisory board, after 17 years of work at Canyon where he played a key role in turning the company into the bike brand as it is known as today. Manuell will be part of Canyon’s
executive leadership team and will be responsible for driving innovation and ensuring successful development and delivery of products to achieve Canyon’s long-term objectives. Following the announcement, Manuell said: “I’m thrilled to be joining a team of passionate cyclists that truly puts innovation and customer-centricity at the forefront of operations. “I’m committed to continue driving
innovation, accelerating development, and delivering products that will inspire people to ride and win races on the biggest stages around the world.” Manuell joins Canyon with more than 22 years of experience in the bicycle industry,

Tern has announced two additions to its senior management team with Steve Gluckman joining as head of global product management, and Shirley Chen, as supply chain director. Josh Hon, founder of Tern, said: “We’re really excited to be able to add two such seasoned bike professionals to the Tern team.
“2023 was a challenging year for the
bike industry but we’re very bullish on the future so we spent 2023 continuing to invest in our people and processes. Steve and Shirley adding their expertise to our already pretty good team will make us that much better at innovation and execution.” The announcement highlights that Gluckman has extensive industry experience, including a 28-year stint at REI, where he was the first full-time employee dedicated to REI’s in-house brand, Novara.
