BikeBiz catches up with Morten Larsen of Bikedesk to discuss the firm’s first year in the UK market, how retailers have been reacting and what is set to come

How has the first year been in the UK market? Our first year in the UK has been an exciting journey. We’ve seen a great reception from bike shop owners, many of whom are relieved to have an online POS system designed specifically for their industry. This includes a platform that has helped them streamline operations—from managing repairs to tracking inventory—all in one place through a web browser. We’ve also learned a lot about the UK market along the way and are thrilled to continue building relationships with bike shops across the country.
What have been the key learnings from the past year?
As mentioned earlier, we’ve gained valuable insights this year. One of the key lessons we’ve learned from the UK market is that many bike shop owners face common challenges, such as time-consuming repair management, a lack of mobile POS systems, and the need for better webshop integration.
