Commercial Officer, Nadine Thompson, Head of IBD Sales, Adrian Mawdsley and the longest serving member of staff, currently Account Manager for the Northwest region, David McKittrick. Working with others, you’ll know it takes a team to build something special. David has now been with the business for 28 years and, unlike many current staff, he’s seen the changes firsthand, both in industry and the business. He describes the ZyroFisher of today as worlds away from what it once was. Gone are the days of just mucking in; everyone is now an expert in their field. When Zyro moved to their 100,000 sq. ft warehouse, it was just a refrigerated storage building, “with no offices or racking, so a huge amount of work went into that, both building work and the implementation of a state- of-the-art WMS and setting up racking for both bulk and pick locations,” David explained. And the reason he’s been with the business this long? “I think I have stayed because I could always see that the company was trying to move forward. The acquisition of Fisher was a case in point. As part of the deal, we secured SRAM, a significant addition to our brand portfolio at the time,” David said. In 2018, ZyroFisher also acquired French distributor,

Royal Velo in a move that allowed them to better service the continent and offer a great distribution network to its brands. Tom is the CEO of both ZyroFisher UK and Royal Velo France and has been with the company since 2018, stepping into the role of CEO in 2023. The leadership team has undergone some significant changes in recent years. More recently, the decision was made to reduce and rebuild the leadership team, something Tom says was made to “gain agility through faster and more autonomous decision making and ensure alignment with commercial goals and accountability for performance.” There’s a big focus on teamwork at Zyro, something you’ll see when looking behind the scenes. From the team meetings, to the relationships account managers build whilst on the road. The team are in sync in the warehouse too, something that’s been streamlined over time, sectioned into areas to meet the needs of businesses they work with, with a daily and national operation happening simultaneously. The daily operation is split into two sides, splitting IBDs and ecommerce, with picking teams on both. During Covid, they installed a second shoot just for B2C orders, allowing them to focus on orders from their own websites as well as fulfilling orders for customers. This process also allows them to pack IBD orders until 6 PM for next-day delivery.
