Audio Technica’s AT-LP70XBT. Hitting that hybrid analogue/digital consumer
square on is the Audio-Technica AT-LP70xBT, a fully automatic wireless belt-drive turntable, with signature J-shaped tonearm and integrated AT- VM95C cartridge. Via Bluetooth, it can easily pair to powered speakers and headphones. Sell the deck with a pair of Audio Technica AT- SP3X wireless powered speakers, to complete the system. It’s worth noting that the turntable’s AT- VM95C dual moving magnet phono cartridge is compatible with any VM95 Series replacement stylus, making it easy to replace and upgrade performance when required.
A smarter way to save One key trend is to use smart home tech to cut costs. Appliance giant Beko is updating its HomeWhiz connected smart home platform to help owners do just that.
The HomeWhiz app is able to track daily,
weekly, and monthly resource usage, crunching consumption data into digestible bites. Users can connect to compatible devices in real time, to better manage bills, energy, and water consumption.
The system analyses user feedback and habits to adapt and optimise settings, looking for energy savings, offering personalised recommendations.
“HomeWhiz is not only about making life
easier, but also aspires to be more sustainable and cost efficient,” said Akın Garzanlı. Chief Marketing Officer at Beko. “As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of white goods, we are able to offer consumers a single platform that can automate daily tasks and provide rich data.”
What’s next So where will smart technology head next? Could home security, the initial driver for smart home adoption, move from cameras and door sensors, to total oversight? One pointer may come from the professional audio world, where next generation geo- tracking is changing the game. GeoTag, a new GPS-enabled tracking device designed by UK- based audio manufacturer APT-GB, is being billed as an AirTag on steroids.
Unlike typical Bluetooth trackers, GeoTag works in remote areas without relying on mobile networks or iPhones nearby. Built for

professionals in the events and production world, where missing gear can derail an entire show, GeoTag points to a future where robust, smart security devices go beyond the basics. One thing remains certain: the smart ecosystem continues to expand, in the process creating a rich up-sell environment. As Mr Duvall of Futuresource Consulting puts
it, streaming and smart living are “no longer luxuries, but lifestyle essentials.” If your shelves reflect that reality, your tills probably will too.
