FRANCHISEFOCUS IN V ESTMENT: FROM £36,000 From farm to franchise Enjoy a healthy income with Riverford Organic Farmers T

he recipient of multiple awards, Riverford is the largest organic home delivery business in the UK

and a full member of the British Franchise Association. Over 30 years ago, from his parents’ farm in Devon, Guy Watson set out to sell organic produce to as many people as possible. Riverford now has a network of over 50 franchisees delivering veg boxes to more than 50,000 homes a week. Riverford’s franchisees are its brand

ambassadors across the UK. The company needs them to help bring its fields into customers’ homes, connecting them to how their food was grown and helping them enjoy it around the dining table.

Riverford grows the vegetables, you grow your business Riverford’s model is simple: it grows, sources and packs the orders, then distributes to collection hubs across the UK, from where franchisees, and/or their drivers, deliver to

their customers. Working with franchisees, Riverford promotes the brand, engages with existing customers and encourages new customers to use its services. Franchisees manage their customer

base and spread the word about Riverford’s fruit, vegetables, service and philosophy, securing a steady stream of new customers along the way while continuing to provide excellent customer care. Riverford is looking for people who share

its passion for good food, good farming and good business. They should be hard working, well organised and motivated. Full training and support is provided by

central teams and a dedicated business development manager who helps deliver a business plan and achieve growth targets. With continuous support and guidance, Riverford’s most successful franchisees have built their businesses from scratch to achieve a turnover of over £1million a year. Riverford looks to develop long-term

relationships based on trust, both with its growers and suppliers and with its franchisees. Riverford’s success relies on all elements of the supply chain working perfectly together. l
