Founder Lucy Mwape on setting up The Woodbridge Parent & Child Family Centre, why now is the right time for fra nchise eansion and who can run a successful and e rewarding business in this high-demand service.
Our story The Woodbridge Parent & Child Family Centre business concept was founded in 2017 and started operating in June 2020. However, almost as soon as I joined the social work profession in 2012, I saw the gap that existed in parent and child care services provision in the UK. There was – and, indeed sill is a signifi can srage of social care services throughout the country and demand continues to grow each day. We provide Residential Parenting
Assessment Service to parents where there are concerns about the ability of one or both parents to safely care for their child. This option may be offered by the Local Authority prior or during childcare court proceedings. The aim is to strive to support and educate parents and minimise risk to a child. We believe wherever possible, children are best cared for in their own family units. Therefore we are passionate about enabling and empowering parents, children and carers to be fully involved both in the long-term plans for their future and in the day-to-day activities that foster personal, educational, and social development. Our service offers dedicated care and
support for families, providing expert and independent family work collaboration and personalised assessments during family court proceedings in association with local authority social services. Our ethos is that there is always the
opportunity to help families remain together. In circumstances where children
are at risk of being separated from parents and placed into short or longer- term fostering or adoption, our Parent & Child service offers a genuine person- cenred, ailfi rs slin. ere is signifi can evidence siive
outcomes for children and families where our professional, dedicated services are delivered to parents and children. The results of our parent and childcare service are that many children don’t get adopted out of the family and will remain living with parents or family members. For those delivering our bespoke care services, it is hugely rewarding as all decisions made prioritise exactly what is in the best interests of a child. In essence, what we achieve makes a substantial, and genuine difference to the life of a child.
Why we lead in this market Since parent and child residential care and assessment centre availability is extremely scarce – and in high demand – we receive multiple enquiries every day from all over the UK. Our premium care service is genuinely unmatched – we are the market leaders in this area of dedicated care and assessment services. Uniquely, we are OFSTED, CQC and ISO 9001 accredited. In addition, we have an outstanding
reputation for the quality of care, professionalism and achieving positive outcomes for the families we help. We create life-changing moments for families that is truly rewarding.
What we’re looking for in Woodbridge Parent & Child Family Centre Partners We are now recruiting franchisees who are igl alifi ed in scial care and who have the experience, expertise, and passion to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable families and children in their residential care. Partners must have a passion and
respect for family life and be motivated by the concept of working to support vulnerable families with the child’s welfare being paramount. Ultimately, this is a hugely rewarding
opportunity for social care professionals or for business people with exceptional
