A quality partnership
u The British Franchise Association (bfa) has entered into a landmark new partnership with Venture Marketing Group (VMG), organisers of The Franchise Exhibitions. The bfa will continue to
exclusively support VMG’s franchise exhibitions that deliver high-quality franchise opportunities and a trusted educational environment for potential franchisees. The bfa will play an active
advisory role in the growth of The Franchise Exhibitions and both the bfa and its members will continue to benefit from exposure in VMG’s large-scale marketing campaigns. VMG will work with the bfa to promote the benefits of franchising. Pip Wilkins, CEO of the bfa, said: "VMG’s reputation for delivering high-quality franchise exhibitions is second to none and the bfa are delighted to support these events. We are looking forward to the virtual event in May and to welcoming the industry to the NEC on 1 & 2 October for the return of the face-to-face National Franchise Exhibition." The virtual exhibition runs over
21 and 22 May and visitors can engage with representatives from a variety of established brands and receive one-to-one advice from franchise industry professionals. Content will also be available to access for a limited period after the event. For a full run-down, turn to page 40.

Food news: the future of delivery and a new launch
u It’s long been predicted as the next step for consumers, but the future is here – driverless pizza delivery is coming to a high street near you! More accurately – to customers in the US, but if the project is a success it’s only a matter of time before you can dial a Domino’s and have it delivered via a ‘R2 robot’ courtesy of tech company Nuro Nuro is rolling out the pilot
scheme with Domino’s Pizza, in selected areas in Houston, Texas, so watch this space! Another pioneer in food
takeaway is the healthy home delivery restaurant chain, Camile Thai Kitchen, with currently the only drone deliveries in Europe. Camile Thai also has announced the opening of its third Northern Ireland branch, in Bangor,
Co. Down – which is also the eighth franchise for multi-unit franchisee Pramod Thankapan. Pramod is Camile’s largest
franchisee and has built his business from his first site in Dublin in 2015. He continues to expand with further sites currently being fitted out. “I am delighted to open the
new Bangor outlet, which complements my two other branches” said Pramod. “We have had a really good start, and are appreciative of the extraordinary support we are receiving from the lovely residents of Bangor”. Pramod will be sharing
the secrets of his success with his real-life franchising journey at the virtual National Franchise Exhibition, see page 46 for more details.
