Tackling the challenge: how our Sustainability Service Innovation Team worked

Sustainability Service Innovation Team (SIT) set up with employees from various departments within the CWM business

Team members take carbon and responsible business training

Sub-groups carry out PESTLE (Political, Economic, Sociological, Technological, Legal and Environmental) analysis of the employee mobility sector, and research into industry standards and approaches to sustainability

A summary report was produced showing findings. This was used to understand the sustainability impact of CWM’s services, across areas such as: truck movements, furniture and goods clearance, air shipment, packing/ unpacking items, sea shipment

Client consultation undertaken, along with RFP analysis

Top sustainability issues identified, relating to each area, in order to prioritize innovations and initiatives to address them

From this, three innovation areas were developed:


• a tool to prepare and report estimated carbon footprint of a move


• addressing furniture waste


• providing greener home search options
