Prepare a new piece of straw braid, paying attention to align it in the correct direction.

Overlap the new piece of braid under the cut-off piece by 1.5 cm for seamless continuation.

Continue sewing, ensuring that both pieces of braid are included at the centre back.

Then, stitch another ring, making certain that the bottom of the double layer of braid is also securely sewn together.

Adjust the sewing machine’s position so that it extends slightly beyond the edge of the table, which will give you access to the free arm feature for easier sewing of circular or tubular pieces. Remember to move the machine back to its original position on the table when it is not in use, for safety and to prevent any potential damage.
Snip off any irregularities before stiffening the crown
