Cécile Gray
Cécile Gray was one of the designers exhibiting in the Maison d’Exceptions area. She initially embarked on a career in architecture but found the extensive computer work unsatisfying. Seeking a creative outlet, she took a sabbatical to delve into wire techniques at a fashion college. Discovering a natural affinity for this craft, Cécile pivoted her career in 2017, becoming an artisan maker. She innovated her unique method of crafting metal mesh using wire and beads, where each piece is meticulously assembled by hand, demanding dozens or even hundreds of hours to complete. Her work, characterised by the use of grids to explore various patterns and volumes, led her to create a groundbreaking ‘clothing-jewelry’ collection for the Hyères Festival of Fashion. This collection earned Cécile the audience award in the accessory category, which draw the attention of luxury brands. Since then, she has been commissioned for bespoke creations, catering to a broad spectrum of high-end products in fashion and designing exclusive cases for perfume and champagne bottles.
