Tobias Oosterveld from Silvester Maria was attending Mut zum Hut for the second time. He started making hats in 2017 when he was unable to find the type of hat he was after in the stores. What started as a personal project has grown in a few years into a professional brand with customers worldwide. The crowns of his distressed fedora hats are shaped by hand to give them a unique look. Tobias describes his style as ‘John Wayne meets Frank Sinatra’, or ‘the Mad Hatter meets Erykah Badu’, as his designs are favoured by men as well as women. www.silvestermaria.com

Fabienne Delvigne Belgium


For milliner Fabienne Delvigne, this was the first time that her brand was presented at Mut zum Hut. A well-known name in Belgium and the Netherlands, where her designs regularly adorn the heads of royalty, Fabienne Delvigne is not so familiar in Germany. Which is why her agent Kerstin Klees decided to come to Ingolstadt to test the market there. Besides offering wholesale headwear for shops, the brand also sells haute couture designs to private customers directly. www.fabiennedelvigne.be


Claudia Gams Austria


Claudia Gams, aka ‘Die Hutmacherin’, has been a regular exhibitor at Mut zum Hut since 2018. She is a full-time milliner with a PhD in history. It is therefore no surprise that one of her specialties is designing and making headwear for ‘Tracht’ (traditional German costumes such as dirndls and lederhosen). At this year’s event she brought a wide selection of felt hats with her. www.diehutmacherin.at
