MEETING THE DEMAND FOR FUTUREPROOFING

James Gilbert, irector of Product and olution anagement, edia, ohde  chwar

This is the first uropean show for our industry in two years and there is a lot of pent-up demand for face-to-face interaction as we return to I. e are excited to rekindle relationships and reconnect with customers and industry colleagues. I believe this years I will be more of a people show than a product-focused one as well as what you can see on a booth it will be about having those conversations that allow vendors and customers to ensure technology developments meet real-world reuirements. It will also be interesting to see how the show has evolved and what changes the pandemic has brought to the traditional tradeshow format. e expect to see a reduction in the amount of hardware in racks on the show floor and much more in the way of software- defined systems that can run on commodity hardware or be deployed in the cloud. A perfect example of this is our Prismon multiviewer and monitoring solution, which will be front and centre at our booth the

display that will look familiar to broadcasters as part of a control room environment. e will also be highlighting our playout solutions as part of this multiviewing wall.

“As well as what you can see on a booth, [IBC] will be about having those conversations that allow vendors and customers to ensure technology developments meet real-world requirements”

Prismon is gaining good traction with

broadcasters in urope thanks to its built-in futureproofing for customers looking to evolve from I to IP  if IP is in your future, you should be looking at Prismon as your software-defined multiviewer and monitoring solution. This multihead, highly flexible, scalable and multi-format system offers sophisticated monitoring capabilities for multiple signal formats that go beyond what is found in an average multiviewer.

ew full-frame cinema primes, including three macro lenses, and several lens mounts, including a .x expander, have been added to ilms range. Its espid series of full-frame cinema prime lenses now includes two new focal lengths mm and mm, with a T. aperture and either  or P mounts  making  lenses now in the espid family, from mm to mm. All the

primes have a .mm image circle, large enough to cover a ista ision image sensor, or the Arri Alexa  in open gate mode. Also new is the espid yber Prime series of full-frame cinema lenses, including a mm, mm and mm all T.. They have a data interface for focusing and aperture data  initially available for Is  Pro autofocus system. The new nosis acro ine T. prime lenses are mm, mm and mm models with magnification ratios of x, .x and .x respectively, with close focus from mm, and a .mm image circle.

everal customers, such as  and ed ee, have already seen the benefits of having Prismon as part of their infrastructure  both I and IP. Its real strength is in the IP T world, and this is where it is gaining a lot of traction.

Prismon also comes with a new ultiviewer

ontrol entre  which we are showing at I. niue to ohde  chwar, the  enables any input to any output, and allows Prismon to share resources across a network, for instance to create a view with multiple ltra  signals, beyond the decoding capacity of a single system.

Alongside our media solutions, ohde  chwar will be delivering a live  roadcast streaming demo at the show with content delivered to smartphones. e will also be launching the T, a liuid-cooled high power transmitter which offers significant benefits in lifetime running costs compared with other transmitter offerings. 7.B21
