38 CE STAGE OFFERS DEEP DIVE INTO CLOUD AND PERSONALISATION
Cloud and personalisation are just two of the topics up for discussion on the Content Everywhere Stage in Hall 5 today.
One highlight looks set to be a panel debate entitled Building Audiences Through Better Discovery, Personalisation and Engagement at 12:00, featuring Ed Abis, Managing Director, Dizplai; Roland Sars, CEO, Media Distillery; and Tom Dvorak, Co-Founder & CCO, XroadMedia. They will share their insights into uses of AI in discovery and personalisation by analysing customer data to make content discovery and personalisation more meaningful, and by analysing the content to better match it to the preferences of specifi c users. ow social media, web apps and gamifi cation can be used to start conversations with viewers and draw in new audiences for live broadcasts will also be discussed.
At 14:00, Environmental Sustainability and the Cloud’s Contribution to Tackling Climate Change will be in focus. This session will discuss how the media industry can become more sustainable, the importance of identifying evidence-based targets, making sustainability important throughout the organisation and the role of the cloud and other streaming technologies in reducing carbon emissions. The fi nal panel of the day will ask what’s next for cloud applications in M&E? Cloud solutions have become increasingly popular in every part of the broadcast workfl ow giving content creators and broadcasters simpler and more affordable ways to create
and distribute video content, while enabling scalability and the ability to evolve rapidly. However, there are different iterations all claiming to be cloud, from virtualised solutions running in private cloud data centres to remote access to on-prem hardware. Do these differences matter? Are all clouds made equal? Taking place at 16:00, this session will start with an overview of the differences between cloud-native and virtualised solutions and go on to examine cloud use cases in different parts of the value chain.
