Study: Insights from young adults
Y-Pulse® released insight from a new study in 2021 in which young adult consumers, ages 18-34, weighed in on their opinions about restaurant menus and provided some insights for foodservice professionals navigating in a pandemic conscious culture. Highlights include: Although young adult consumers are familiar with no-touch transactions and adept at using technology in all aspects of their lives, 72% of them reported that they missed printed menus, with 59% saying it concerned them that scanning a QR code to get a menu could have some security issues. 72% of consumers surveyed said they are

Guest Services Inc., a hospitality company based in Northern Virginia, appointed Nico Foris to chief executive officer. Foris joined Guest Services in 2012 as chief financial officer and has served as chief operating officer for the past three years. “I have the privilege of being a part of such a special company and working with all of our great team members at Guest Services,” said Foris. “We will continue to carry forward the values, culture, and strong commitment to our clients that has defined our business for the past century. Rick Cardenas was named president and chief operating officer for Darden Restaurants in in January. In this role, Cardenas oversees all restaurant operations as well as supply chain, development, franchising and international and consumer insights. Rick served previously as Darden’s chief financial officer since March 2016.
Amy Burns was named co-president with Herb Gould of Anthony’s Restaurants, a 49-year-old corporation with 23 restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. Burns joined Anthony’s full-time in 2016 after a 25-year career in human relations with Microsoft.
Hatco Corp. promoted Cindy Cervantes to vice president and chief financial officer of the Milwaukee-based foodservice equipment manufacturer.
Mercer Culinary named Ryan Ivey regional sales manager for the western territory.
