Susie Hollands is the CEO of Vingt Paris which she founded in 2003 to help international buyers find their feet in the opaque market of the French capital. Her service covers all aspects of real estate advisory, from buying and selling to property management. Significant deals include managing Le Moulin de la Tuilerie, a 26-acre estate outside Paris that once belonged to King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. ‘[We] ran it more efficiently and we ended up handling the sale as well.’ Born in Scotland, Hollands

His education was similarly varied. Alexander Kraft studied law at the universities of Goettingen, Cambridge, Berlin and San Diego before deciding to begin his career at Sotheby’s in 1997. He joined its real estate department a year later, where he was appointed its European regional manager in the same year. Kraft acquired the auction house’s


France-Monaco arm in 2004 and has since developed a network within the markets of Paris, the Côte d’Azur, Provence, Biarritz and more.

Nick Leach is a co-founder of Athena Advisers, a property investment boutique which specialises in all aspects of French real-estate transactions. The former equity sales expert left his role at Morgan Stanley in 2000 to work in internet start-up companies (Carandhome.com, Skillvest and Probis CRM) before setting up Athena Advisers in 2003. ‘We have a real niche positioning in the marketplace,’ Leach, who specialises in Alpine properties, tells Spear’s.


‘Our tagline is “property,


investment, lifestyle”. Those are really big driving factors for our clients, who are largely buying for lifestyle, but it needs to make investment sense,’ he adds.

Irene Luke is is the property savant raising Savills’ profile in the ‘crowded’ marketplace of Monaco, where land reclamation is progressing more slowly than the rise of new-build apartments. ‘Whether clients are buying or selling, you’ve got to really know the market to make sure they are getting a fair deal,’ says Luke, who was a commercial property lawyer in London, moved to Monaco and then joined Savills in 2011, becoming a co-managing partner a year on. Luke says she is an ‘extremely cautious’ adviser to HNWs looking to buy. ‘I just don’t think you can really give concrete advice that someone can rely on forever – things change very quickly here.’


‘Mathias does not just sell – he guides his customers,’ reads Mathias Melgaard’s bio. Parisian Bruno Vallery-Radot has appreciated the French capital’s wide range of architectural delights from his childhood, a factor that made him switch career from law to real estate. Today he heads up Daniel Feau’s


Saint-Germain-des-Prés arm and ensures that his team of international agents are ‘as high-performing, thorough and demanding as he is in this market and neighbourhood that he knows so well’. The firm operates in partnership with Christie’s International Real Estate. Vallery-Radot has over a decade’s


worth of experience in the market and has previously worked as a broker at Sotheby’s International Realty. He specialises in residential (buying and selling) as well as property development transactions.


An exclusive affiliate of Christie’s, Michaël Zingraf has been selling and renting luxury property and ‘prestigious’ apartments in South East France for more than 40 years. Although he considers London to be the ‘capital of the world’, family man Zingraf has said that he would never leave the Côte d’Azur for it. ‘[People are] smiling a little more than perhaps London or Paris.’ Zingraf’s 13 estate agencies are located in the most emblematic locations across the Côte d’Azur and Provence. The firm also assists in everyday


matters of property management and event planning: ‘From your arrival we do everything in our power to make your stay in your villa exceptional.’


Adviser profile Luke has been with Savills’ since 2011 and became a co-managing partner in 2012. She is a lawyer by training, having read law at Oxford University, and has practised in both London and Monaco, working first as a commercial property lawyer, then in the private client field. She decided to leave law and join
