EM Spectrum | Light, Sound and Waves | Physics A. Spectrum Tubes
Gas-filled discharge tube for studying typical spectra of the different gases and for use in calibrating spectrometers. The glass body is provided with metal end caps and is constricted along the middle portion to concentrate the discharge glow. Maximum recommended running current 3mA.
Includes a hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and neon spectrum tube. E8R06832
B. Spectrum Tube Holder with Power Supply
Spectrum tube power supply fitted with safety door. Holds 26cm long spectrum tubes firmly preventing the user from touching the electrodes. The matt black colour eliminates the distracting ambient light and the soft spring action protect the tubes from breakages. Operates on 220 volts a.c.
E8R08098 C. Spectrum Tube Holder
This economical special holder allows an external power source to be used for 260mm long spectrum tubes. Fitted with 4mm safety sockets on black panel. This holder is fitted with bosshead which allows its clamping on any laboratory stand. Stand is not included.
Comprising a lamphouse and transformer and a range of spectral lamps available separately. The lamps give a steady light output of high intensity, and the special design of transformer ensures that the lamps ‘strike’ immediately they are switched on. When mounted on the integral stand, the lamp is enclosed by a cylindrical metal lamphouse with a circular aperture and the light centre height is adjustable from 200mm upwards.
