A. Demonstration Dynamo
The Demonstration Dynamo includes 2-pole armature wound with enamelled copper wire, and a permanent magnetic field provided by a removable magnet. The construction of the model is completely open and all components are readily observable. This model is mounted on a 200 x 125mm baseplate, which also carries a hand-drive pulley, 125 diameter, coupled to the smaller dynamo pulley by a rubber belt. Electrical output is via a pair of 4mm sockets, and a light emitting diode is provided as simple output indicator.
The model may also be used as a motor on a 6 to 9V d.c. supply.
Overall height: 180mm. E8L26098
B. Demonstration Electric Motor C
A model of the simplest form of d.c. electric motor, having a 2-pole armature wound with enamelled copper wire, and a permanent magnetic field provided by a removable magnet. The construction of the model is completely open and all components are readily observable. A disc-type commutator is incorporated and external connection to the phosphor-bronze bushes is by means of a pair of 4mm sockets. The motor will operate on 3 to 6V d.c.
Height: 125mm. E8L26086
C. Motor Construction Kit
Kit of parts to build six model motors as in the ‘Westminster’ electromagnet kit. The Motor Construction Kit enables pupils to build their own motors from scratch. By having to construct motors in this way pupils gain a better understanding of the theory behind electric motors.
This kit provides everything required to produce a simple d.c. motor, helping students to better understand how they work and the principles behind them. Fully illustrated instructions make building the motor an accessible project for students of all levels.
The kit contains: 1x Base 1x Motor yoke 2x Ferrite slab magnets 1x Motor axle 1x Reel of copper wire 1x Copper foil 2x Test leads 1x Instructions
