Motion and Acceleration | Forces | Physics A. TSA Light Gate Source and Receiver
TSA Light Gate Source & Receiver The Receiver connects directly to a DIN socket on TSA. The green light on the Receiver indicates that the light gates are aligned and ready to be used. The Source allows for separation distances of up to 50cm between the Source and Receiver.
The TSA Timer is not included. For more information please see our website.
CP053465 B. Light Bridge
TSA Light Bridge The low current Light Bridge connects directly to the DIN sockets on the TSA enabling velocities and accelerations to be displayed. There are no internal batteries as power is taken from the TSA, and there are no bulbs to replace.
The unit is free standing or if required the handle can be held in a clamp stand.
Current rating 14mA. CP00052562
C. TSA Sound Switches (Pair)
TSA Sound Switches. These Sound Switches connect to the TSA (not included) and can be used to measure the speed of sound in air and through solids.
Because TSA can measure time intervals to 1/100 of a milliseconds it is possible to put the switches a short distance apart in the lab and measure how long time takes to travel that distance. The quality of the sound source is important. A clean, fast rising pulse can be best generated by hitting an empty bottle with the plastic handle of a screwdriver.
When the sound arrives at the first switch it starts the Fast Timer in the TSA and when it arrives at the second switch it stops the timer. The switches are latched. The Sound Switches enable pupils to quickly and easily measure the speed of sound in air and in solids.
The TSA is not included, but is available to purchase separately.
CP00052567 £76.92 D. TSA Reaction Timer Switches (Pair)
The Reaction Timer Switches can be used with the TSA (available separately) to assess a students reaction times.
The Reaction Timer Switches connect to the DIN sockets at the back of TSA. The students work in pairs and the first student pushes the red button on the top of their switch. The second student must then press their red button as soon as they see the LED light indicator on the TSA illuminate.
External variables can be controlled to see how they affect reaction times. These could include drinking a caffeinated drink, or listening to music through headphones during the experiment.
CP00052564 £35.28 E. TSA Foot Switch for Reaction Times
TSA Foot Switch - for carrying out Reaction Times experiment (Reaction Timer Switches and TSA are also required)
The footswitch allows some interesting experiments to be performed. such as is the reaction time using your hand the same as when you use your foot? The TSA is able to measure reaction times using 1 reaction timer switch (available separately) and a foot switch. The reaction time in displayed on the TSA.
