House is made easy through complimentary tastings of over 100 different whiskeys based on floral and delicate, fruity and elegant, smokey and intense and rich and rounded basic flavour profiles. Master distillers and brand

ambassadors stop by regularly to introduce their new release exclusives with guided tastings and food pairings. In the world of wines and

Champagne, DFS at Terminal 4 boasts a selection of prestige wines, as well as a special collection from Lafite, Mouton and Latour to name a few. A curated selection of wine is presented in tasting machines for guests to sample before buying.

European expansion Looking ahead, DFS will continue moving forward with its expansion strategy while strengthening its digital marketing campaigns. One region where it has already

made its intentions clear is Europe, with the opening of its Venice T Fondaco dei Tedeschi downtown store in 2016. Furthermore, it will also open a

20,000sq m shop at Paris’ historic La Samaritaine department store in Q4 2019. Does this mean DFS is set for

further European downtown expansion and that it would welcome the opportunity to enter the airport arena in the region? Time will tell. All things considered, 2017 was

positive for the retailer with a plethora of renovations, expansions and new openings. A strong second half performance

along with its exit from the ‘loss making’ Hong Kong Airport concessions meant DFS could end 2017 with optimism and look forward to starting afresh in 2018. «
