“From a young age, I knew I wanted to work in travel; I’ve always been fascinated by aviation. That’s what led me to study international tourism management at the University RI /LQFROQ %HIRUH VWDUWLQJ P\ WKLUG \HDU P\ PHQWRU WROG PH about an internship opportunity with Abta, and I jumped at the chance to apply. I knew how well connected Abta was within the industry, and I wanted to build my CV and give myself a competitive edge for when I graduated. “During my four weeks with Abta, I worked in the PR
and communications team, learning how the organisation has built its reputation as a trusted national brand. I was part of its 16-25 age group, where I could bring a younger perspective and contribute fresh ideas to its strategy. Everyone was so supportive and eager to help me. “After graduating, I stepped straight into a business
management graduate role with easyJet. I’m excited to see where the journey takes me from here.”
My top tip
“Travel isn’t just about being cabin crew or working on cruise ships – it’s much more varied. Explore all your options, do your research and speak to as many people as possible.”
