Area 1: Socio-dramatic play: Children can play dochtúir/fiaclóir. They can take turns being a patient, nurse and doctor/dentist.

Area 2: Construction: Children could use playdough/clay/marla to construct their own robot with various body parts.

Differentiation

More able pupils could be invited to design a robot, possibly making one using Knex/Lego (there are STEM sets available). More able pupils could be invited to add a verse they make up themselves to the poem ‘Tá Ocras Orm’.

Less able pupils could be taught body parts through ‘Cluiche Kim’, perhaps with a Mr Potato Head, removing various body parts.

More able pupils could be invited to put a project together on their favourite sport/sportsperson (ainm, spórt, aois, contae).

More able pupils could be introduced to the foclóir Gaeilge-Béarla as a way to explore alphabetical order and in assembling lists of Irish words/red herrings. More able pupils could be invited to do projects on their favourite artists/art galleries.
