Examine the list in a whole-class setting and discuss which words are not Irish words.
OK, children, we are detectives. We have to find the Irish words. Look at this list of words, children. Are they all Irish words? Which words are not Irish words?

Work in pairs, children. Put the words from the list in alphabetical order. Oibrígí, a pháistí. Cuirigí na focail ón liosta in ord aibítre.
Follow-on Work Make their own list of Irish words with some red herrings
I want you to make your own lists of Irish words. Make up your own words that aren’t actually Irish words. Look at your friend’s list. Which words are not Irish words? Are you going to play a trick on your friend?
