Art elements and design principles (see p. xiv) are used by all art and design practitioners. Architects may begin with line drawings, developing these into 3D models on-screen, or actual models, to show the client how light and space work on the design. In fact, most artists and designers begin with pen or pencil line drawings, as this is the quickest method to put down ideas.
Artists and designers will develop their work using the art elements and design principles that best express their ideas.
