WAITING GAME So far, travel buyers are taking a “wait and see” approach to NDC with 63 per cent not considering the introduction of new tools or platforms. Only 26 per cent are looking at “direct connect” channels with airlines, including NDC-enabled platforms. But Koch issues a warning


to buyers who play this waiting game: “The biggest unknown is whether travel managers will be able to maintain visibility into costs and traveller behaviour. But they cannot afford to wait to address the issue. “Travel managers must evaluate their policies and technology now so they’re prepared for potential


disruption. If caught on the back foot, they will be left grappling with a more fragmented, less safe and, ultimately, less effective programme.”
