BUSINESS TRAVEL TRAINING

TRAVILEARN WAS FOUNDED BY KAREN MCKENNA and Ian Dockreay to create the industry’s first global online learning platform that focuses on business travel. The certified range of courses and toolkits are designed for a wide range of learners, from buyers to TMC and supplier staff and management. Karen McKenna, Managing Director at Travilearn, explains below how Travilearn can help you and your business.

Q Why did you create an online platform?

We wanted training that was available to all, irrespective of location, time constraints or accessibility. Strong global growth in the corporate travel sector has increased the demand for staff and good management, so organisations are struggling to attract candidates with the right sets of skills. Those already in the industry also need

to have on-demand access to the type of training that provides them with the knowledge for career advancement and personal development. We created our courses so that learners

can have access to e-learning at a moderate price, and in a structured and certified framework. The courses are designed to contribute to their professional development throughout their career.

Q What is your mission and how do you fulfil it?

Travilearn’s mission is “to provide training courses and toolkits for anyone, anywhere, anytime and on any device”. The modern learner wants multi-device learning, and they want to do it in their own time – on the way to work, in the evenings, or at their desk. We decided at the outset that it had to be on a platform that would evolve with advances in technology.

FOR ALL Q Who has Travilearn

for? Who would benefit most? The courses are designed for both business travel buyers and TMCs. There’s no point in educating one side of the industry but not involving the other. Both sides have similar challenges, they are just coming at it from different perspectives. We have just launched a three-course

Diploma for TMCs. We are also about to launch Corporate Travel Management 101 for travel buyers, which is the first part of a two-level course.

differ from more traditional approaches to learning? They are very different, and more dynamic. The training is delivered using videos, infographics and audio.

Q How do Travilearn’s e-learning courses

Learners can then test their knowledge with interactive quizzes that offer helpful responses.

There are also opportunities to revisit

any areas the learner finds particularly challenging. Every module tells a story, step-by-step, with case studies and helpful tips along the way that test and build the learner’s understanding.

Q What certification will learners receive?

Travilearn has partnered with the GTMC (Guild of Travel Management Companies) to provide the Corporate Travel Professional Diploma for TMCs. Additionally, the version for travel buyers

– Corporate Travel 101 – is also certified by the GTMC.
