FRANK BAUER Eurowings has named Frank Bauer as its new managing director and chief financial officer. He has held various management positions within the Lufthansa Group since joining in 2007.


STEVE GRIFFITHS Steve Griffiths, former chief operating officer of Transport for London, has taken up the role of chief operating officer at Stansted airport. He was previously chief operating officer of Virgin Atlantic.


PATRICK MICHAELS SACO, the serviced apartment company, has appointed Patrick Michaels as director of sales for London. Michaels has 15 years’ experience, most recently as the managing director of AKA.


JEAN-JACQUES MORIN; CHRIS CAHILL Accorhotels has appointed two deputy chief executives: Chris Cahill and Jean-Jacques Morin. Cahill was previously chief executive officer of luxury brands. Morin was chief financial officer.


STACEY WERNER SHAPIRO Choice Hotels has promoted Stacey Werner Shapiro to the role of vice-president and assistant general counsel. She joined the franchisor in 2009. She will oversee real estate and investments.


IAN DAVIES Ian Davies has been appointed UK business development manager at the ATPI Group. He brings more than 20 years’ experience, having worked at The Appointment Group and Sandy Row Travel.


TRACY GEHLAN Hertz has appointed Tracy Gehlan as international chief operations officer. Gehlan has 23 years’ experience, most recently as managing director and chief executive officer of Smashburger UK.

AIR TRANSAT TO LAUNCH UK-CANADA ROUTES


CANADIAN LOW-COST CARRIER Air Transat is to launch flights to six cities in Canada from the UK next summer. From 1 May, the airline will begin flights from Gatwick to Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary (pictured below), with connecting flights to Edmonton and Quebec City through Toronto. Air Transat will also launch direct services from Manchester to Toronto and Vancouver. Passengers in Glasgow can also fly direct to Toronto, or via connections to Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. In total, Air Transat will offer 40 direct


flights and nearly 60 connecting services from the UK every week.
