PEAK PERFORMANCE

Tork PeakServe Continuous Hand Towel makes life easier for cleaners in high-traffic venues while also vastly improving the washroom experience for customers. Tork Commercial Director Nathan Titheridge explains how.

Cleaning and servicing the washrooms of large facilities such as sports stadiums and concert halls can be a nightmare for cleaners.

It is almost impossible to predict when a maintenance check may be required or when supplies of hand towels and other consumables may run out. Empty dispensers put the washrooms under intense pressure since queues will quickly form around the few toilets and hand drying units that remain well stocked. And when people are forced to queue for long periods of time it can lead to frustration and frayed tempers – and even fights or vandalism.

Dirty and overcrowded washrooms are the biggest concern for customers in high-traffic venues. A recent survey commissioned by Tork and carried out online by IPSOS revealed that a bad washroom experience ranked higher than crowd disorder, long queues or poor food and drink on people’s lists of negatives when attending a stadium.

Tork PeakServe Continuous Hand Towel has been launched to address this situation. It will reduce washroom

congestion and minimise queues. It will make life easier for cleaners and cut labour costs. And it will be great for business, too, since it will free up more time for visitors to spend in the food, drink and retail outlets.

SO, HOW CAN TORK PEAKSERVE ACHIEVE ALL

THIS? Tork PeakServe delivers hand towels in a quick, easy and continuous action that speeds up washroom traffic. The easy-to-use, high-capacity dispenser can serve more than 1,000 guests between refills – 600 more than existing dispensers.

It takes just three seconds for a washroom visitor to take out a towel from a Tork PeakServe unit and move on. Even the most powerful air dryers typically takes 10-12 seconds to dry the hands which means Tork PeakServe reduces hand-drying time by around 75% when compared with an air dryer.

Faster drying frees up washroom space and allows queues to move more quickly. And this results in

happier guests who also have more time to buy something to eat, drink or even a souvenir.

WHAT PROBLEMS DO TRADITIONAL HAND TOWEL

DISPENSERS CAUSE? Up to now the main choices when equipping the washrooms of a stadium or concert hall have been between a hand towel roll system or a folded towel dispenser. But both have their drawbacks in high-capacity venues where traffic peaks are likely.

A hand towel roll offers a relatively high capacity, but lacks the option to be topped up in use. This means it may still run out during peak times, particularly in a busy washroom where visitor patterns are erratic.

Folded towel dispensers can be topped up at any time which makes them easier to keep stocked. However, they usually offer a lower capacity in the first place because larger dispensers for folded towels pose further problems.

The more hand towels there are in a dispenser, the harder they will be
