Give Your Hotel The Ideal Chemistry

Get the perfect solution to your laundry problems with these new products and innovations from Ideal Manufacturing.

Ideal Manufacturing, located in an old leather tanning factory in Northamptonshire, continues to expand their detergent ranges, working to buck the trend in these times of reported commercial gloom. For 20 years, Ideal has worked very closely with a number of overseas clients, but they have always been aware of the huge areas in the market that are nearer to home.

Ideal are always looking for ways to develop and improve its range of powders and liquids. Through continuous involvement with the user end of the market, Ideal is able to witness first-hand and consider on-site problems as they occur. This hands-on approach to application chemistry enables Ideal to be closer to the real needs and demands of the modern launderer.

They have developed a complete range of professional products for laundries and dry cleaners who deal with hotel and restaurant work. The ‘Five Star Restaurant Laundry Range’ allows customers to choose the five ‘Ideal Ingredients’ from a specially selected range of detergent powders, stain removers, degreasers, starches and finishing products. Some examples include:

UNIQUE - The ultimate in strong, high-alkali powder detergent; it searches out grease and stains on heavily soiled kitchen and restaurant linens.

COLOURSAFE - Our classic oxygen de-stainer booster powder; it’s much kinder to dyestuffs and fabric than chlorine bleach!

52 | HOTEL & LEISURE CLEANING

PENSOL – A high alkali liquid booster for improved soil suspension and removal; it turns troublesome grease into useful soap.

PREMIUM LIQUID STARCH – Convenient, long-term, stable and high quality liquid starch, for manual or automatic injection at the final rinse; it also improves adhesion to polyester.

CHIFFON SOFT – A very effective blue perfumed fabric conditioner and anti-stat, particularly effective on cotton mix fabrics and towels.

BACSTAT 2 – An innovative bactericidal final rinse liquid, which neutralises electrostatic charge during the drying or wash process. It helps to prevent mildew build up on fabric, sanitises when disinfection

One Ideal customer, Mr Jorge Joao of 'Iberico Laundry' in Wimbledon, supplies and washes high quality cotton and polyester table linen to restaurant businesses all over south London, and the neighbouring counties. He recently took on a new client, who insisted on being supplied with 'Hospital Blue' coloured polyester table linen. They had a Mediterranean-style restaurant with Italian and Spanish influenced cuisine, which meant a lot of olive oil, dipping sauce and salad dressing stains. Despite using a very good washing powder, and high doses of emulsifier, they were still suffering from dark, shadowy grease residues in the linen, even if the wash times were extended and given a low temp pre-wash. The

with bleach or temperature are not an option, and imparts softness and antistatic properties.

With such a comprehensive range of products, combined with the recent appointment of Mr Hemant Zavery to oversee the development of our new dry cleaning division, they hope to co-ordinate an innovative new training program, tailored for the use of Ideal dry cleaning products for end-users. With the development of a brand new range of specialist wet cleaning products in the pipeline too, Ideal is definitely one to keep your eye on.

linen looked clean when removed from the washing machine, but after ironing, the shadowy residues became visible. The technical team from Ideal Manufacturing were called in, and suggested that the temperature limitations in the wash were insufficient to fully emulsify the difficult olive oil concoctions from the restaurant. As the polyester material is very robust, Ideal suggested boosting the wash chemistry with their liquid alkali booster Pensol (P), at a rate of 8ml/kg of linen in the main wash. This powerful alkali added an extra deep-clean to the wash, complementing the emulsifying action of the detergents. The new combination solved the problem, leaving Jorge a very happy man with a constant small supply of Pensol.
