BICS International Special
Since its establishment over 50 years ago, The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) has continued its campaign to raise awareness of the necessity for accredited training and standards in the cleaning industry. As the organisation has continued to grow within the industry, we have also seen the establishment of BICS Business Services (BBS) and BICS International, to facilitate the delivery of BICSc accredited training throughout the UK and internationally.
Meet some of our International Training Centres:
Master Cleaners Training Institute, New Zealand
In partnership with BICSc, Master Cleaners provide accredited training programmes to CrestClean franchises and other cleaning organisations based within New Zealand.
The Master Cleaners primary function is to provide training to CrestClean franchises and other organisations with a cleaning responsibility, providing basic and more specialised training to all CrestClean employees. This includes the provision of annual up-skilling programmes, which will be attended by more than 1,000 CrestClean personnel each year.
Master Cleaners aims to set the benchmark for delivering professional training programmes for the New Zealand cleaning industry. Our mission is to raise standards through innovation and skills development in the cleaning industry.
Borneo United Enterprise, Borneo
Borneo United Enterprise became a BICSc centre last summer. The company, which employs more than 600 cleaning staff, provides cleaning services to government buildings, including Ripas Hospital and the State Legislative Council building.
As the managing director of Borneo United Enterprise, Stanley Lim Hock Ghim, recalled how, in the past, most jobseekers would not want to work as a cleaning operative, but as he explained, “today is different.”
Additionally, he hoped that with the advances in training within the cleaning industry, the company will be able to command greater respect from the public towards cleaning operatives, and change the social stigma surrounding the job.
Diversey Inc, Ireland
Diversey Inc are now delivering BICSc accredited training in the Republic of Ireland.
Stephen Braiser, from Diversey, said: “We at Diversey consider it a great privilege to have been awarded the exclusive contract to deliver BICSc Accredited Training to the cleaning industry in Ireland. This is an ideal partnership that gives us the opportunity to combine Diverseys' Global knowledge of sustainable cleaning solutions with BICSc accredited standards. We are looking forward to launching the training modules and playing a key role in raising standards within the industry.”
Diversey will be providing training in the BICSc Cleaning Professional Skills Suite (CPSS) qualifi cation.
