UK Charities Celebrate Household Essentials
In a world of new gadgets and gizmos, we sometimes take everyday essential items for granted. In Kind Direct’s Charity Household Essentials Summer Campaign, is celebrating the everyday products that keep UK charities running; from cleaning supplies and toilet tissue, to washing-up liquid and dishcloths.
In Kind Direct distributes stock to UK charities, to help them run their services and improve the lives of the vulnerable people they support. This summer, In Kind Direct is running a campaign to boost stock donations from the household consumables industry, in response to increasing demand for its service from small, struggling UK charities.
P&G, McBride, Asda, Kimberly- Clark, Pluswipes and Harrison Wipes, are among the companies pledging support so far.
As part of the campaign, In Kind Direct has launched a social media competition asking charities: ‘What household essential couldn’t your charity live without?’ The competition entries have already shown the critical part products such as cleaning supplies, tissues and toilet roll play in the running of local charities, including youth projects and community centers across the UK.

charities believe they may close because of fi nancial pressures. The 6,000 small UK charities that have received products from. In Kind Direct include: domestic violence charities, youth groups, family welfare organisations, homeless shelters and community groups.
By donating essential items, companies can make a real difference to reducing charities’ costs. This in turn helps them do more for the vulnerable people they support.
