Laboratory Products 59 2D Code Reader with Unique Active Anti-Frost System
Micronic is pleased to announce the release of the new Rack Reader DR710, complete with the intuitive Micronic Code Reader Software. The DR710 is equipped with a deep focus image sensor ensuring the highest accuracy 2D code reading even if the tubes aren’t flush with the scanner plate or codes are partially compromised. By activating the uniquely designed active anti-frost system on the DR710, ambient air is drawn into the scanner where it is cleaned of dust. Warmed dry air in the
scanner prevents condensation on the scanning plate when the scanner is used as described in the Getting Started manual. The DR710 accelerates the processing time of racks with frozen sample tubes.
Optimised for rapid and accurate sample identification, the DR710 can scan and decode a whole rack of 2D Data-Matrix codes in just 7 seconds and a single 96-well format tube in less than 2 seconds. Its small benchtop footprint makes the DR710 an efficient, space saving option for organising laboratory sample inventory. The new DR710 is compatible with most brands of 2D Data-Matrix coded tubes whether they are in a 96-, 48- or 24-well format. The reader is flexible in terms of its power supply options. It can be powered via the external power supply or a computer’s USB port, freeing users from the stress of not having the adapter at hand when doing their job. Additionally, the CSV-file output enables users to smoothly integrate the Micronic Code Reader Software into their laboratory information management system (LIMS). The rack reader comes with a 5-year warranty to help minimise its cost of ownership.

New Multipurpose Centrifuge Accelerates Results
Leading life science company Eppendorf has introduced a new centrifuge designed to increase efficiency in the laboratory, the Centrifuge 5910 Ri. This new centrifuge is the successor to the popular Centrifuge 5910 R, the flagship of Eppendorf’s multipurpose centrifuge portfolio that has been providing customers worldwide with outstanding versatility and ease of use since its launch in 2018.
With the introduction of the Centrifuge 5910 Ri, Eppendorf now offers scientists advanced features to simplify and accelerate their centrifugation workflow steps. An innovative touchscreen interface allows for quick setting of desired parameters, while three levels of user management and new documentation options provide enhanced security and
traceability. The optional connection to the new VisioNize® Digital Lab Suite enables
remote monitoring of the device, notification of alarms and events, and convenient access to important documents such as certificates and operating manuals.
A large selection of rotors and adapters facilitates a wide range of applications, while the unique Universal rotor saves time by allowing the centrifugation of, for example, 50 mL conical tubes, plates and 250 mL bottles without the need to change the rotor, rotor buckets or adapters.
High capacity and performance combined with an intuitive user interface for fast, error-free operation make the new Eppendorf Centrifuge 5910 Ri well-equipped to meet the needs of modern labs now and into the future.
