New Addition to Micro Annular Gear Pump Range
Outstanding resistant to both wear and chemical attack are among the key features of the HNP 11558 micro annular gear pump, recently added to the established range of HNP MZR internal gear pumps. Available from pumping specialists Michael Smith Engineers the HNP 15588 pump features the toughest, most chemically resistant materials for its key components and incorporates a magnetic coupling to ensure leak-free pumping.
For example, ceramics for bearings and shaft, rotors of zirconium oxide, alloy C22 for case components, which results in a pump able to withstand the most aggressive and corrosive media. The HNP 115588 pump is designed to deliver smooth, precise pulse-less flows (CV<1% at low volumes) at high differential pressures up to 60 Bar and is ideally suited to critical fluids handling applications.
This compact pump, which measures just 301 x 130 x 129mm (L,W,H) and weighs around 12kg, delivers flow rates from as little as 0.19 ml/min up to 1152 ml/min. It incorporates a dynamic brushless precision motor with a 500 count per rotation encoder.
Successful applications for HNP pumps have included pumping organic compounds in continuous processing systems in pharmaceuticals manufacturing, accurate pulse-less small capacity dosing of flavours and additives in food processing equipment and precise, smooth filling of medical capsules.

Pump-Motor System Gives a Smooth Delivery and Extended Life
Smoothly handling fluids in the most demanding applications with operational flexibility and long life, Fluid-o-Tech MGFR Series pump-motor units from Becktech combine 24V brushless DC drive motors in a rotor-less configuration with high precision mag drive external MG series gear pumps to provide a high-end system with special benefits in a wide range of uses.
Service life of these units is reported as greatly extended compared to traditional pump- motors due to their having fewer moving parts and an excellent system balance. Extreme accuracy of the design and a high-quality finish ensure the delivery of a smooth and pulsation-free flow in all conditions.
A leak-free electromagnetically coupled fluidic system with a high degree of versatility is provided by integration of the pump, motor and variable speed controller. Different materials are available for a many fluids and units may have a built-in relief valve.
Typical applications range from medical, food processing and laboratory equipment to lubrication, cooling and sampling systems and water purification and ultra-filtration.

Multi-Shear Inline Viscometer Delivers Accurate Rheological Information Identifying the rheological characteristics of a fluid system is typically completed in a
laboratory, takes a long time, and requires large amounts of fluid. Cambridge Viscosity has developed a new multi-shear inline viscometer that changes all of this. Accurate rheological information is now available rapidly in a small sample process stream. Cambridge’s new multi-shear viscometer is available for Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, ranging from concentrated suspensions to any type of coating application. Evaluated as a rheological screening device, measurements from the controller compare well with those on the same fluids under the same conditions, as when using a rheometer. The new Cambridge viscometer should be considered anywhere in-line rheometric knowledge is required.
Easy to clean and maintain, the device performs well throughout the viscosity range of 0.2-10,000cP. The VISCOpro 2000 automatically cycles through calibrations at three different force levels to test at low, medium and high shear rates. The system allows users to easily distinguish between Newtonian and Non-Newtonian fluids, and results of the discrete steps are reported within 10-15 minutes, depending on the viscosity range.
