OFFICIAL MEDIA SPONSORS

The Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida will be home to the 63rd Pittcon, from 11-15 March 2012.

As the world’s largest annual conference and exposition for laboratory science, Pittcon will offer the latest technology and instrumentation from nearly 1,000 exhibitors, a diverse Technical Program of over 2000 presentations, over 90 Short Courses to enhance your educational experience, and networking sessions that provide the chance to exchange innovative ideas with scientists from around the world.

New for Pittcon 2012 is the Capstone Lecture, Redesigning DNA: Fixing God’s Mistakes, which will be delivered by Steven A Benner, Distinguished Fellow at the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, 14 March at 5:00 pm. Steven Benner founded the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution following service on the faculty at Harvard University, the ETH Zurich, and the University of Florida. His research spans many fields in the physical sciences, information sciences, and natural history, more specifically in the emerging fields of synthetic biology, paleogenetics, evolutionary bioinformatics, and astrobiology. His laboratory invented several redesigned versions of DNA, evolution-based genome databases, some of the first compelling tools to predict protein folds, and models for the origin of life.

Open to registered conferees at no extra charge are the Conferee Networking Sessions which will start on Sunday 11 March and continue through to Wednesday 14 March. Session topics vary and include methodologies such as computer modelling and simulation; data analysis and manipulation; education; liquid chromatography; sampling and sample preparation; and sensors-to name a few. There will be 40 total sessions with 5 evening sessions scheduled on Tuesday from 4:30pm. to 6:30pm. Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pittcon attracts nearly 20,000 attendees from industry, academia and government from 90 countries worldwide. Over the following pages we take a look at a small selection of the exhibitors and products that will be on display this year. For further information on the show and a full list of exhibitors go to www.pittcon.org.

International Labmate look forward to welcoming you to booth 1310 at Pittcon 2012.

Pittcon remains the largest analytical instruments show in the US and is vitally important to our business. It remains the only show where Shimadzu can display our full breadth of instrumentation to scientists from around the country and the world, and is a great barometer for our business.
