Tis year, Duns Castle celebrates the 700th birthday of its spectacular peel tower
Duns Castle wears its age lightly, bringing together the romance and authenticity of a Borders strong- hold with the facilities of a modern corporate event venue. Te Hay family which has owned
the glorious castle for 300 years has seamlessly integrated modern fea- tures to make it a comfortable envi- ronment for the most connected of executives, without spoiling the feel of a country home. Te Berwickshire castle, which
celebrates its 700th birthday this year, boasts a spectacular formal dining room with seating for 60 guests and an elegant drawing room. Surrounding that are a choice of bedrooms and holiday cottages pro- vides accommodation for 57 people. “We are able to tailor a package
to your clients’ needs,” Aline Hay explains, adding that auditorium seating, break-out spaces and audio visual support are available, along with wi-fi and a good 4G phone signal. Tere is good travel access and ample parking. Bookable activities include clay
pigeon shooting, archery, hover- crafting, mini-Highland games, storytelling or falconry and there are the gardens and woodlands of

the 1,200-acre estate to explore. Privacy and seclusion are part of the package. Tis year, Duns Castle is also
launching off-the-peg options. “We are developing two or three all- inclusive packages in collaborations
with our preferred suppliers to offer an easy, transparent and cost- effective product for the travel trade and corporate events organisers,” explains Mrs Hay. n
