Business News Games strike deal over shooting event
--The Commonwealth Games Federation has struck a deal with India to host a shooting and archery championships, which will run separately from Birmingham 2022. The Commonwealth Archery and Shooting Championships will be a separately organised and funded event, taking place in Chandigarh in January 2022. Birmingham 2022 organisers
won't be involved with the Chandigarh event. However, medals won in the shooting and archery competitions will be added to the final 2022 Games medal table following the conclusion of the Birmingham games. Ian Reid, chief executive of Birmingham 2022, said: “We are pleased to hear that the Commonwealth Games Federation Executive Board has approved Commonwealth Games India’s proposal for a separately organised and funded Commonwealth Archery and Shooting Championships, which will be held in India in January 2022. “We would like to wish the

answered questions on the subject at the first Birmingham Chamber Big Breakfast, attended by 170 delegates at Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre. Mr Reid also outlined the “huge opportunities” available for businesses, adding: “There will be

women in the Games, Mr Reid said the event will be the first to have more female medals that male.
