Businesses chase awards glory
Eighty-two businesses have been shortlisted across 12 categories for the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce’s annual dinner and awards. The shortlist announcement was
made in a series of videos on the Chambers’ official LinkedIn page. The 12 category winners will be
revealed in front of 1,300 people at the ICC in Birmingham on Thursday 19 March. One of those winners will then
be crowed the overall Greater Birmingham Business of the Year (sponsored by SCC). The shortlist is:

The judging panel, chaired by the Chamber’s chief financial officer Helen Bates, included McDonald’s franchisee Douglas Wright, Burton Albion’s commercial director Fleur Robinson, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’ Manufacturing Community chair Johnathan Dudley and Eileen Schofield, who is principal at Schofield & Associates and a director of Birmingham Law Society. Helen Bates said: “We had
dozens of applications to look through and some great applicants in all of the categories. We have a superb selection of shortlisted applicants and I am really looking forward to the awards dinner when we can honour some of these great businesses in our region.” The awards dinner will be hosted
by broadcaster Ed James. Headline sponsors for the black-
tie event are Birmingham City University and HSBC, while Qatar Airways is the table décor sponsor and St Joseph Homes the pre-drink sponsor.
