ell, what a roller coaster the property market has been this year. One day the telephone

doesn’t ring and we wonder if Brexit is finally biting and the next day we are rushed off our feet. We never know what to expect. Viewing levels, however, have generally been lower than last year. Some properties are attracting serious attention and even achieving full asking price. Some less so but surprisingly, although viewings are down, sales are still buoyant. The one thing that has remained constant during the last six months is the reluctance of home owners thinking of moving, to take the plunge and put their property on the market before they set their hearts on a new home. Our attitude is, don’t worry about the “B” word. The good news for vendors is that the ideal time

to sell is probably right now. What better time to view a property than when the sun is shining? A house put on the market in August still has a good selling period ahead before the evenings draw in and the market quietens down in November and this is always one of our best-selling periods. Here

SUMMER PROPERTY SALES

in the sought after South West it is not surprising that we benefit from buyers migrating from all parts of the country. Some come here to retire, some for a better lifestyle and some to buy second homes. The summer holiday period is often their opportunity to visit for a week or two and do some serious house hunting and, at this time of year as we accompany all our viewings, we expect to be busy all day and every day. From our initial visit to your home if you decide to

sell, the marketing of your home can begin within three or four days. Firstly with our own database of buyers and then with our advertising which doesn’t stop with The Post but extends to local and regional newspapers, worldwide exposure on multiple internet portals and our own website. So if you are thinking of a move, don’t delay.
