dred years ago, as this wonderful community space is on land purchased by public subscription to create a Recreation Ground to be enjoyed by all as a fitting memorial to lives lost in WW1. So entirely appropriate, the Kingsbridge branch of the Royal British Legion will be present, along with Kings- bridge Silver Band, Cookworthy Museum, Kings- bridge in Bloom and other local organisations keen to help you enjoy your visit to the Park. Now boasting new sports facilities; a café full of
tempting deliciousness; play and picnic areas (don’t forget your blankets!), the Ground has been trans- formed over the last few years into one of the best parks in the country; also being awarded a coveted Green Flag together with Five Star status for the RHS ‘Love Your Park’ scheme. As Town Clerk Martin Johnson explained, “There is so much to celebrate, we felt that the Park’s centenary was a perfect time to shout about it and
what better way to do that than invite everyone along to the Park for a family day of fun to show how much you ‘Love Your Park’!” Add in live music with Open Mic opportunities; Storytelling
for little ones; a whole host of games for all ages and abilities; fresh food available throughout the day; presentation of the Awards for the Kings- bridge in Bloom Sunflower competition; Bouncy Castle; and…far too much to list it all, so check out the Chalk Board Programme on the day. With easy access for the less mobile or wheelchairs; plenty of seating and tables in situ; plus toilet facilities, it’s all there! Even Archie, the Library Bear, is joining in so come and give him a hug! Do join in what promises to be a true community event, celebrating what makes Kingsbridge so special…
